Victorian Revival Cloak Clip

$59.00

This unusual 1940s Victorian Revival cloak fastener features a dramatic chatelaine-style design with double oval-link chains connecting two decorative fasteners. Suspended from the center is an additional chain terminating in a long, tapered faceted Czech glass drop in a rich topaz color, giving the piece wonderful movement and an elegant period-inspired silhouette.

Designed during the renewed interest in Victorian Revival jewelry, the combination of warm gold-tone brass, elongated chains, and faceted glass creates a wonderfully romantic look. The long Czech glass dangle becomes an especially striking focal point when worn.

Pulled taut, the cloak fastener measures approximately 13 inches from end to end, with an additional 4 1/4-inch dangle drop. It is a wonderful piece for adorning a double-breasted coat or jacket and an unusual addition to a collection of 1940s vintage costume jewelry, chatelaine-style jewelry, or Victorian Revival accessories.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with minor surface wear. Some tarnish has developed, creating an attractive aged patina consistent with the character of the piece.
