Vintage Faux Carved Jade Flexible Link Bracelet with Aurora Borealis Stones
This fabulous 1950s faux carved jade glass bracelet features a flexible articulated-link design combining richly colored green glass with sparkling aurora borealis rhinestones. The molded green glass stones have the appearance of carved jade, giving the bracelet an exotic, jewel-like quality characteristic of some of the more imaginative costume jewelry designs of the period.
Each faux carved jade glass stone is flanked by decorative silver-tone links surmounted by an aurora borealis rhinestone. The surrounding metalwork has an almost floral appearance, creating the impression of small sparkling flowers nestled between the green glass elements. The combination of luminous green glass and iridescent AB rhinestones gives the bracelet wonderful color and movement as it catches the light.
Dating to the 1950s, the bracelet measures approximately 7 1/4 inches in total length, including the clasp, and 1 inch at its widest point. Its flexible construction allows the articulated links to conform comfortably around the wrist.
Adding to its vintage-jewelry history, this bracelet comes from the well-known Anita Stern estate associated with This and That in New York, an especially interesting provenance for collectors familiar with the vintage costume jewelry trade.
